Vodafone Has Relaunched Mobile Application Store Powered By Appia

APPIA

Today Vodafone has launched its Mobile Application Store in India under the VStore brand. Powered by Appia, which is a leading mobile application distribution network, the new store provides Vodafone subscribers over 10,000 paid and free apps. To get started with the VStore, Vodafone subscribers have to send <VStore> or <Apps> to 111 from their GPRS-enabled handsets and click on the URL in the response message or customers can also log-in to live.vodafone.in and click the Vstore link on the Vodafone Live homepage. Hit the break to continue reading…

On launching the app store from your phone, it is going to first ask you about your phone’s handset vendor (there are like 200 or more handset vendors in that category) or the Operating System of your phone. After making a choice, it will then show you applications specific to the OS or your phone type. We tried checking it out from our BlackBerry device but it says “The VStore for BlackBerry devices will be launching very shortly.” Shockingly, the app store also mentions Apple iPhone but obviously Apple does not allow any carrier or third-party app store on iOS devices. We are not sure why Vodafone (or Appia) cannot automatically detect the handset make and OS to serve relevant apps directly. We find this step unnecessary.

Appia is a white label app store provider and powers app stores by Opera, Samsung, America Movil, T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon Wireless, among others.

Sources Familiar With Reality – iPad 3 For Early 2012

ipad3

The Wall Street Journal‘s usual people familiar with the matter are weighing in on the iPad 3, which is being expected to arrive sometime in early 2012.

Majorly the sources focus on Apple’s interactions with suppliers, The company is said to have lined up its key components for the next iPad and has begun to place orders for 1.5 million iPad 3s to be produced during the fourth quarter of 2011.

The other details in the WSJ report are largely rehashed from previous rumors when it comes to iPad 3 speculation. The main point is the display resolution, which is being said to be going up from 1024×768 to 2048×1536—basically double the number of pixels in both directions. But this in itself isn’t a new revelation; evidence found within the iOS 5 SDK back in June showed embedded images that were twice the size of the iPad 2′s screen, sitting at 2048×1536, indicating that Apple was indeed planning to increase the iPad’s resolution to match those images. It’s also worth noting that DigiTimes‘ own sources claim the next iPad will have the same 2048×1536 resolution.

Rumors about a higher-resolution iPad date prior to the release of the iPad 2 earlier this year. Many expected the iPad 2 to come with a similar “retina” class display as the current iPhone 4, but such an expectation was unrelistic—Ars explained why such a thing wouldn’t make sense until at least 2012.

Now that 2012 is drawing nearer, it’s no surprise that these rumors are popping up again, and they will likely continue to pop up in increasing numbers through about March or April of 2012.

Finally, Dial IPhone With Your Nose

nase-dial

I am so surprised you, but a pen, put on your face could change the way some people use the iPhone.

Not as silly as it seems?

I rarely have no opinion on matters of technology. I know in general what I like and what I do not what I earn more, and it will not, but the recent post from TechCrunch me from a serious Jekyll and Hyde.

To give a quick summary (although the picture says more than I could ever hope for) man named Dominic Wilcox went to a draft-day invention, and this was the one who invented creations. It ‘pretty well, I guess. » Read more..

Facebook Has Launched New Mobile Messenger

facebuk

Facebook, the popularly known social networking site, has recently unveiled a new standalone mobile messaging app for iOS and Android, which is called “Facebook Messenger”.

This service is very similar to Blackberry Messenger, Apple’s upcoming iMessage, as well as many other free services already in the App Store. The quick messages can be sent back and forth similar to texts, but the messages rely on data, and not the number of texts on your mobile account.

An unlimited number of messages can be sent to all of your Facebook friends as long as you have an internet connection. The app lets you contact groups, share your location, and send photos on top of sending regular messages. Get instant mobile notifications to stay in touch with the replies from friends. You can also set the notifications to a pause of one hour or overnight so that you are not to be disturbed. This feature can also be used for individual friends.
The one and only main drawback is that you can’t see when your friends are online available to chat. Still, this is the first step in widespread moving away from text messages, and we will see how carriers respond to it.
Facebook is yet to make any iPad native apps, and Facebook Messenger is for now with mobile phones only. Facebook Messenger is a FREE app and is already in the Top of the chart for Free apps of the week.

However, HTC is facing few problems with the signal connection. If the phone is not help properly it will affect the connectivity of the phone, even if it is held face up in the palm. Apple had similar problems right after the phone was introduced.
