Apple iPhone 4 Cases Reportedly Won’t Fit On iPhone 4S

iphone 4s

Apple execs might have said that the iPhone 4S looks and feels the same as the iPhone 4 and it appears that the form might be the same but the fit definitely is not the same.

According to one Android-Sale Blog, the switcher and volume key buttons of iPhone 4S have been moved down slightly, which are going to render iPhone 4 cases useless for the iPhone 4S. This might have be done to accommodate the new dual-antenna design in the iPhone 4S to solve the ‘antennagate’ issue.

Notice the extra slit on top of the switcher button. This might be bad news for existing iPhone 4 users who are buying the iPhone 4S but the case manufacturing industry would certainly be rejoicing. They will have something new to sell, especially after Apple hoodwinked them into making ‘iPhone 5′ cases with a new slimmer design and larger display.

Demand has been so strong that even models that have been out for one or two years are still being sought out. With an expected refresh later this year, volumes are set to reach higher levels”.

But Kevin Restivo, senior research analyst with IDC’s Worldwide Mobile Phone Tracker, has added, “There is no runaway leader in the market, which means there could easily be further Top 5 vendor changes to come and the smartphone market leadership change signifies the parity that comes with a fast-growing market such as smart phones.”

“The first half of the year has demonstrated strong growth for the smartphone market. The second half of the year will bring new flagship models and refreshed user experiences to market. These will keep smart phones well out in front of the market, and keep growth on an upward trajectory,’ added Llamas.
