The GH-CRHC48K is the latest USB card reader from GreenHouse that provides 6 card slots. The device supports 48 types of memory cards including SDHC and PRO-HG Duo. Data from small sized memory cards, such as micro SD, memory Stick Duo and memory Stick Micro can be transferred to PC without the need for a separate adapter. This universal card reader supports transfer speed of up to 480Mbps for USB 2.0 or 12Mbps for USB 1.1. Each purchase comes with a flexible USB cable that is expendable up to 70 cm. The GreenHouse GH-CRHC48K will be available in Japan next month for around 1,280 Yen.

Iomega has unveiled its latest technology, the new Iomega StorCenter ix2-200. This new storage device is proven to be one of the best innovations in network-storage devices for home or small businesses. The StorCenter ix2-200 features two 3.5-inch 2TB drives and can be configured to a RAID 1 mirrored alignment or a streamlined 4TB RAID 0 setup. It has a powerful Marvell processor of 1GHz clockspeed with 256MB DRAM on board. This device has a dimension of 3.7in W, 7.9in D and 5.6in H whilst Wt is 5.1 lbs where French, German, English, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (simplified) are the localization. It supports hard drive and Disk array (RAID) as storage devices and the Data Transfer Rate 300 MBps where RAID level JBOD, RAID 1. The Iomega StorCenter ix2-200 4GB is available in the market with a retail price around $700.

Transcend has unveiled its latest device, the new Transcend StoreJet 35U external hard drive. This latest external hard drive features advanced technology including Transcend’s cutting-edge Turbo HDD USB technology that offers unprecedented data transfer performance, enhancing read speeds from 33MB/s to an average of 42MB/s. This hard drive is also eco-friendly, because it can automatically go into power-saving sleep mode after ten minutes of inactivity, allowing energy-savings of up to 67% which is really an energy saver. The devices is fully compatible with latest Windows 7 operating system, and it has a 3.5-inch display and bundled with StoreJet elite software which offers intelligent security, backup scheduling, and file compression functions.

All Transcend StoreJet external hard drives are fully compatible with Windows 7. The StoreJet 35U is offered in capacities of 500GB, 1TB($197)  and 1.5TB($226) , while the StoreJet 35T is offered in 1TB and 1.5TB.

ioSafe has once again expanded its award-winning ioSafe Solo external hard drive series by announcing the ioSafe Solo SSD. Featuring the company’s own proprietary ArmorPlate steel outer casing, this waterproof and fireproof drive is capable of surviving 5,000 pound crush forces, 1000g shocks and 20 foot drops into rubble.

In terms of connectivity ports, the drive offers both eSATA and USB interfaces, and is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. The ioSafe Solo SSD will start shipping next month for $499 (64GB), $749 (128GB), $1,250 (256GB), respectively

The Seagate Pulsar is the company’s first solid state drive that is designed to meet OEM performance, power, size and reliability requirements for enterprise and general server applications. Available in 50GB, 100GB and 200GB storage capacities, these 2.5-inch SSDs are all 3Gb/s SATA compatible, offering top read/write speeds of 240MB/s and 220MB/s, respectively.

The Seagate Pulsa has a lifespan of about five years, which is about average for current-gen SSDs. Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing so far.

The PhotoFast USB flash drive is different from any average flash drives. It’s simply like providing a USB interface for microSD cards, which it comes with 4 microSD card slots and accepts 4 cards. You can make use of the PhotoFast USB drive to transfer those images stored on the memory cards of your cameras.

This PhotoFast drive uses JBOD (just a bunch of disk) protocol to merge all the 4 microSD cards into a single USB flash drive, when attached to your PC. The microSD cards can all be different sizes and the maximum of total supported capacity is 64GB.

Imation Corp. today announced the availability of its much-anticipated Pro WX Wireless USB hard drive in the US market.
