The one who is interested, actually there is no need of specifying “The one” because every one do has an interest in green technology, here is a company which has launched and gave amazing gift is that the very first solar powered desktop computer in the Indian market. The company with well known name as Simmtronics Semiconductors and honestly, this is the first time that every one is hearing about this company, but all should feel great that a green desktop is finally available in our country.

As the desktop is worked by the sun, it is a computer that mainly targeted for the areas which have frequent power cuts or even villages, where electricity is still a mystery to many.

This solar powered computer is priced at just INR 28,990, which includes the solar setup and one year on-site warranty. Well, it is about time computers hit our villages!

When being powered by the gigantic ball, which has been made up of mainly  hydrogen and helium, the computer also saves up some power which allows it to run for another 10 hours in the absence of sunlight.

Obviously, at such an affordable price, the one cannot expect a monster in terms of specs, but the device seems perfect for internet browsing (although this is another problem in areas where there is constant load shedding or electricity is absent most of the time), office work and probably listen to some music and watch a movie or two.

It is powered by a Via C7 1.6 GHz processor, 1GB RAM, includes 160GB HDD and a 15.6-inch LED monitor. The keyboard and mouse are included and the operating system on the computer is Linux. The solar kit includes a 74W solar panel with charge controller, SMF battery and AC inverter.

“Learn with Yahoo” Program Will Make Its Way to Schools

In India, the Internet usage is changing fast and there are more than 50% new subscribers from tier-II towns. The demand to learn how to surf the internet is high, which is why Yahoo! India has decided to launch its ‘Learn with Yahoo’ program to schools in the near future.

There program has been receiving good response from people in its first phase. There are plans to add to the program once it makes its way to the schools. In India, more people are using the internet on mobile devices rather than PCs. A 3G enabled handset becomes a cheap way for them to connect to the internet.

Yahoo! Indian currently reaches 81.7% on internet population in India. They are looking forward to introducing emails in local languages to be more appealing for Indian users.

Senior Director, Yahoo India, Nitin Mathur, has stated: “The latest trend in internet usage is changing fast with metros which dominated the scene just a year back giving way to the non metro towns now”. The ‘Learn with Yahoo’ program will train new users on various aspects of the internet. This will include email, search and internet safety.

Facebook Has Launched An App For Every Phone

Today Facebook has launched an application for every phone that offers a “fast and comprehensive Facebook experience” on over 2,500 Java enabled mobile phones.

The app includes the most popular features of Facebook, such as, News Feed, Inbox, and Photos for every phone. It  is also very benefit to the users as they can upload photos to Facebook and find friends from the phonebook.

Facebook has revealed that the app has been used best to consume less data than other Java apps or mobile sites. It has also tied up with mobile service providers to provide users with free data access for the Every Phone app for a 90-day period. The 20 service providers that Facebook is collaborating with for free data access include four from India – Aircel, Airtel, Idea and Reliance.

Earlier in May 2010, Facebook had teamed up with 50 mobile phone operators to offer cellphone users 0.facebook.com, a stripped-down version of the social networking site that can be accessed without incurring data charges.

Actually this app out from feature phone app maker Snaptu, an Israeli startup that makes Java-based feature phone apps. Four months ago, Facebook acquired Snaptu for an estimated $70 million.

Earlier this year, Facebook has worked with the mobile development company to build the Facebook for Feature Phones app, and make it work on more than 2,500 devices.

That’s right: Today Facebook has updated the app with a few more features, changed “Feature” to “Every” in the name, and has promised to support more phones in the future.

Google Released Its Android 3.2 Honeycomb SDK

The most popular SOFTWARE HOUSE Google has given an another gift to all that is software development kit (SDK) for Android 3.2, codenamed Honeycomb, which brings user and developer features.In terms of user features there will be a ‘compatibility display mode’ which allows for pixel-scaling of applications rather than stretching them, for apps not designed for larger screens.

It’s not been long that we have been talking about Google’s Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system and already the SDK is out for the next update in line.

The Android Developers have written in a blog post that,”Today we are announcing the Android 3.2 platform, an incremental release that adds several new capabilities for users and developers.”

Users will also be able to load media files from an SD card, on a tablet that facilitates one, straight to applications that use them.

For developers, extensions to the application programming interface (API) include resource qualifiers and manifest attributes to give greater and more precise control over the way apps are displayed.

A new ‘zoom compatibility mode’ is going to render the user interface of a fixed-size app on a smaller screen area, and then scale it up to fill the space available on the display. The new API is rated 13, one higher than version 3.1.

Facebook Plans To Add Music Services On September 22nd

The well popularized social networking site Facebook is going to launch a music service on September 22nd, according to CNBC report. But still there are no current details on whether it will be a streaming subscription service or simply a music storefront similar to iTunes, and Facebook has not yet confirmed the announcement.

Business Insider told that the Facebook music service will also integrate with other third party services such as Spotify and Radio. CNBC has also suggested that the Facebook will work with MOG, another music service that has a long-standing relationship with Facebook. Spotify and Radio currently allow users to integrate with social networks to share songs and playlists with friends.

Dell Has Launched Vostro V131 laptop

Dell has refreshed its Vostro laptop lineup with the launch of Vostro V131.
It is designed especially for small business customers with lightest and thinnest in the Vostro portfolio. The ultra-thin laptop houses Intel Core i3 and i5 processors.

The company has claimed that both the laptop’s removable 6-cell battery and 2nd generation Intel Core processors are available as an option, will deliver up to 9.5 hours of battery life.
“We have designed the Vostro V131 to deliver fast and uninterrupted multitasking for current business challenges,” Mahesh Bhalla, Executive Director and General Manager, Consumer & SMB, Dell India has revealed.

He further added,”The result is a feature-rich laptop for mobile professionals who actually expect the full performance to support their technology demands without sacrificing design and portability. In addition, the V131 is also offering services and software solutions that improve productivity and data security.”
The laptop’s connectivity options include WWAN, WiMax & LTE (US only), WLAN and Bluetooth 3.0. The laptop also packs standard fingerprint reader and Absolute LoJack security software. Dell Vostro v13 also provides full HD camera, SRS Premium Voice Pro, digital array mics and built-in Skype. In addition, the laptop offers two USB 3.0 ports, a chiclet keyboard with a backlit option, and quick launch keys.
The laptop is going to be available starting at Rs 41,990.

Google Has Launched Movies And Books On Android Market

Now Google is going to introduce the latest and interesting with useful version of the Android Market, which makes books and movies available to purchase or rent.

The move makes Google a stronger rival to Apple, which offers iPhone and iPad users similar services via the iTunes and iBooks apps.

Google’s update is also improving the design of Android Market on handsets, cutting out clutter and offering more options to help users find new apps.

Google has claimed the service means “no more waiting for downloads, syncing, or worrying about storage space”.

Movies will start at $1.99 in the US. The content will normally be streamed, but there will be an option to download for viewing later where there is no internet connection, such as on a flight.

It is good news for the fans of Lenovo that it is going to launch its latest version in India i.e.ThinkPad X220.
