nikon

It seems that the megapixel war is official, as Nikon Rumors is reporting a 36mp D800 is coming in the next 30-60 days at a 99% probability. The rumor has been there throughout however it missed the date of announcement, but more importantly the camera seemed to be a reality.

The relevance of big megapixel Nikon D800 could be the expectation that Canon is going to response with a new SLR at the same niche. It seems that Canon is just waiting for Nikon to go with announcement to decide how to proceed.

If Nikon is going to be able to ship the new D800 this year, Canon will have no space but to answer back with a new SLR. Though the theme could be big megapixel camera, Canon could go for normal megapixel, however with excellent high-ISO performance and interestingly a full-frame camera.

roof

It may be tough but great to believe this that is because of controlling room temperature is now possible without turning on air conditioners or coolers. It can be done by using the innovative product, which has been introduced by a Vadodara-based company.

Neetu Jain, the founder Aesthetic Solutions (AS), has explored the potential of her father, Dr DS Mittal’s product, cooling coating for rooftops and walls and now is become well known techno-entrepreneur.

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad’s Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) is now funding the product and also mentoring the company as it scales up the business.

Jain told,“CIIE is going to give us around Rs20 lakh and help expand our business nationally and internationally”.

On retirement of Mittal, he has pursued his hobby of developing new products and technology.

Further Jain added, “While working as an honorary consultant in Vadodara, my father had developed this product for personal use and applied it in his house in Jodhpur. However, it had helped us cope with financial challenges and in 2007, I had founded AS at Vadodara”.

Jain, the pharmacist, was a lecturer before marriage and later has assisted her husband in his business. AS is primarily into manufacture, marketing and distribution of innovative products such as chemical coatings for energy conservation and insulation. It deals with reflective coatings, insulating coatings, waterproofing products and industrial coatings.

Jain explained, “All our products are eco-friendly and reflective coatings are much useful in the heat of summer as they reduce indoor temperatures by up to 14 degrees Celsius. This in turn helps lower electricity bills by reducing use of air conditioners to nearly 40%.”

Jain’s product of complete cooling and weather protection of roof and walls differs in lowering temperature from case to case. “For instance, coating on a RCC roof will reduce temperature in the range of 6-10 degrees Celsius, whereas, coating on a metal roof will reduce temperature in the range of 6-16 degrees Celsius. It also helps in reducing insulation (false roof) in the houses from 6 inches to 1 inch, again lowering cost of interiors.”

The coating can be applied on bus tops, sheds in zoos and industrial sheds to help control the atmospheric temperature a great level by reducing the heat island effect.

sony

Sony Corp has started recall of 1.6 million Bravia flat-panel TVs sold worldwide since 2007 after finding that a faulty component may cause them to melt or catch fire.

Yuki Shima,a Tokyo-based spokeswoman for the world’s No. 3 maker of televisions, said that Sony has recalled the liquid-crystal display TVs after a September incident in which a customer had noticed a small fire and smoke. Eleven incidents have been reported in Japan since 2008, according to a company statement and no injuries have been reported.
A faulty component, which has been found in the backlight systems may be the source of overheating that can melt the top of the television, Shima added. The same transformer is used in the five Bravia models in Japan being recalled, according to a Sony statement. There haven’t been any reports of overheating incidents outside Japan, the statement added.
“Sony-related recalls are following one another and that may ruin the company’s brand image,” said Keita Wakabayashi, an analyst at Mito Securities Co who rates the stock “neutral plus.”
“It could impact the stock negatively if the recall causes a significant amount of expense.” Sony has risen 1.4 per cent to close at 1,517 yen in Tokyo trading. The stock has plummeted 48 per cent this year, compared with a 16 per cent decline for the broader Topix index.
